Self employed

FNV Zelfstandigen offers its members information, advice and support. We represent the collective interests of the self employed and facilitate members' networkactivities.
Our members are consultants, ICT-specialists and trainers but also gardeners, self-employed nurses or divers.
FNV Zelfstandigen is an autonomous union for the self employed. We participate in the Federation FNV.

What's new

The self employed of today is in some ways a new phenomenon. He or she is an entrepreneur, but in search of personal growth rather than building a big business. Maybe he or she has been an employee before, during or after being self-employed. People mix their own career path. They don’t stay in the same track all their life (and to be honest: organisations are not that loyal either). Legislation and the basics of social security have to be adapted to this new situation. That takes time, and above all lots of creativity and new ways of thinking. Essential in this process is the articulation of needs, wants and ideas by self employed.

What is in it for you?

We offer our members individually information and advice on a variety of issues, such as company law disputes, how to conclude agreements that will hold up in a court of law, how to collect debts.

We have developed some brochures and do-it-yourself kits. For instance on: How to make legally sound deals? How to calculate a price for my services?

Members can also count on direct support and legal assistance, free of charge, if they get involved in juridical conflicts over work and fees, or if they have to deal with the consequences of an accident or a criminal offence, during work, through no fault of their own.

As a collective we can buy better services and products for better prices than the individual. For instance: insurance or accountancy or a pensionplan.

and of course we fervently participate in the public and political debat in order to make legislation and social security zzp-proof.

You can join us. Go to lid worden. If you have questions and you find it difficult to read the information in dutch, you can contact us first.

We can only accept you as a member if you are working in the Netherlands.

You can also find other FNV unions for self employed in some specific trades: building, sports, hairdressers, artists and journalists.
